Giving Back

Volunteering in the Lake Chelan Valley

Generosity begins with a vision. We are not alone. We are not separate. From this vision, acts of giving. Some seen. Some not. We are lucky in Lake Chelan. Lots of visionaries! Here is how and where to meet them.

Getting Started

Here are some volunteering concepts to consider:

  • Find your tribe. Look for areas of service that pique your interest. Volunteer a few times with a group. See if you click. If not, repeat until your find the cause and community right for you.

  • Believe you have the time. Start small. Give a few hours a month. Your giving muscle will grow from there.

  • Be brave. Responsibility will likely be thrust upon you. Don’t back away. This is your chance to grow.

An Incomplete List

Below are over twenty organizations looking for volunteers. Collectively, they care for the soul of our valley. Click on a few links and see what grabs your fancy.

(If your group is not on the list, email me and I’ll add it!)

WE doesn’t die.

You will die some day. Plain fact. The body by fifty begins its descent. In a hundred years, all our names will be forgotten. Good perspective check.

But consider the list of organizations above. Most span decades if not generations. The WE created by coming together in a group does not die. The generosity poured into young people or clean water or old stories or hospitals does not die.

A better place. That’s what your generosity helps create.

Catch the vision. Start this month.

Give Back. Two hours. (Yes you can!)

Now go.
