Funding the Trail
The Lower Reach One Trail will be constructed during the fall of 2019 and spring of 2020 using volunteer labor.The project budget of $10,000 covers planning and permitting costs, signage, and equipment rental expenses.
As the president of LCTA, I am looking for a foundational donor to anchor our fundraising efforts.This is an opportunity to contribute $5,000 to a project that will have a lasting impact on our community. School kids, active seniors, and everyone in between will use this trail.Your contribution will touch many.
As the foundational donor, you have the option of being recognized publicly on signage and at the ribbon-cutting event.Or you can choose to remain anonymous.In either case, your contribution will be greatly appreciated by thousands of trail users in the years to come.
The Trail Route
The Lower Reach One Trail will extend 2.4 miles along the Chelan River.The project was born out of a partnership between the City of Chelan, The Chelan County PUD, and the Lake Chelan Trails Alliance (LCTA).
The trail will be contain two loops and offer a number of hiking and biking opportunities into an area previously not open to public use.Views of the river abound in all directions.Side streams of the Chelan River gurgle quietly through riparian habitat full of waterfowl.Quail, deer, and big-horn sheep call this area home.
